Google Play Music gets smarter – Want …

Google has announced a complete redesign of the app for iOS and Android, and the web version of the music streaming service. The renewed interface of the Google Play Music is associated with the new technology that allows you to show suggestions more personal, based on various parameters, during the course of the day. Taking advantage of the machine learning, the company in Mountain View seeks to improve the user’s experience and, at the same time, increase the number of users.

Google already uses the algorithms of artificial intelligence in other services, including Google Assistant, Google Photos, and Inbox, in order to make the information more accessible and useful. The same technology has now been applied to Google Play Music. The interface of the app is no longer static, but changes during the day. Users will see suggestions different depending on the time, place, search history, to the conditions of the time and the tracks you have previously listened to.

Google clearly indicates on the official blog that the feature must be enabled (opt in), as the customization is performed only if the service knows the habits of the user, that is where it is at any given time of the day, what they are doing and what kind of music you prefer. Google Play Music shows the songs inside of the card, similar to those of Google Now. If, for example, the app detects that the user is in the gym, will appear on the screen a playlist tailored to your workout with the songs of AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Green Day and similar artists.

subscribers to The service can listen to the songs of the playlist in non-free, since the tracks are automatically downloaded on the smartphone (the option can be turned off). The deployment of the update was launched today and will reach users in 62 countries, in the coming weeks.
