Programming Netflix will be available directly on the home TV via the decoder TIMvision, even in HD quality, thanks to the infrastructure of landline broadband and ultra wide TIM, the largest in the country. TIM and Netflix plan to introduce a “simplified application process and access to the service” of Netflix to provide “experience streaming” of high quality. “The partnership with Netflix confirms our industrial strategy and sees us in Italy as the only open platform for the distribution of premium content that integrates the best deals on the market”, says Marco Patuano, CEO of Telecom Italy. “We are happy to present to the Italian public Netflix,” said Bill Holmes, General Manager Business Development at Netflix. “Our partnership with Telecom Italy will make it even easier Italians discover Netflix and, with it, a new way to watch TV, which allows viewers to decide when and how to enjoy the show.”

We know that Netflix will arrive in October, after about two years of rumors, in Italy we know today also that the first agreement to bring the contents on the TV has signed Telecom Italy. How the TV service will be available in streaming, TIM customers can access it directly through the set-top box TIMvision, even in HD. This is not an exclusive formula not provided by the American company: Netflix can be accessed via browser and other agreements will come to bring the contents on TV.

At the launch, the offering will include exclusive Netflix original series, including Marvel’s Daredevil, Sense8, Bloodline, Grace and Frankie, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Marco Polo, documentaries Virunga, Mission Blue and Chef’s Table , a special selection of stand-up comedy, as well as a section dedicated to youth. Windows 10, “new era” for Microsoft – ANSA.it
