Space: vast plain ice on Pluto according to new images – euronews

Pluto continues to reveal their traits. NASA has released new images, recorded by the probe New Horizons.

The dwarf planet has a vast plain frozen, its surface would be relatively recent, less than a hundred million years. He’s probably still taking shape through geological processes in progress.

The discovery of vast plain stunned scientists expected to find rather huge craters, since Pluto is regularly hit by asteroids.

The NASA team had already been able to observe the presence of mountains of about 3500 meters, thanks to the photos sent Wednesday by the probe, which flew over the planet after nine years at sea.
