– A group of researchers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston has developed a number of particles that can remove up to 100% of toxic substances from waters in polluted soils. Described in the journal Nature Communications , these “nanospazzini” laboratory bind pollutants and, when exposed to ultraviolet light, form of “lumps” that can be removed easily .

Netturbini microscope – During the test particles were able to remove all of the toxic substances from water samples and soil stripping literally their layer external and joining to be collected with their load of pollutants. Unlike other similar technologies currently implemented, the “nanospazzini” does not have the disadvantage of forming secondary products harmful to health and environment.

In defense of the environment and health – Second researchers, these new molecules are well suited to remove other chemicals that alter the functions of the human hormonal system with serious consequences on health. The particles fail to remove efficiently even another harmful chemical, bisphenol, used in the production of plastic and of thermal paper, which serves as material for the tickets.
