IBM awards the University of Pisa with $ 20,000 – Mobile Magazine

The historical society of the US computer IBM has awarded the University of Pisa and the Foundation Promostudi with a sum of money equal to 20 thousand dollars . The assignment of the “Shared University Grant” came as a result of numerous and important research in the field of information security.

Fabrizio Bacardi and Marcello Montecucco , team leader progeto, stressed the importance recognition received: “We are the only ones to be honored in Italy and Europe for this kind of study: it is a very exclusive recognition that goes through a rigorous selection process worldwide.” A note inside the Ateneo universatario Pisa has also specified that the search: “It has as its objective the development of tools to automatically evaluate the safety of complex ICT systems: the basic strategy is to simulate how the system reacts to attacks intelligent ICT capable of identifying the best routes to penetrate it, control it and steal any valuable information. ”

The money received will be used to fund graduate students and scholarships times to continue and improve research in progress.
