Tesla has unveiled its new products for therenewable energy dedicated to the consumer market. In particular, the company owned by Elon Musk has officially unveiled its "Solar Roof", i.e. a solar roof that will produce renewable energy without having to install bulky and anti-aesthetic solar panels. At the same time, Tesla also unveiled the Powerwall 2, which is the second generation of batteries for the house. Both products can be used in any home making it autonomous from the energy point of view.
The solar roof is definitely the most interesting product. Today, those who want to take advantage of the solar energy needs of solar panels that may not always be compatible with the roofs of the houses. The solution to this problem, for Tesla, is the solar roof, consisting of tiles that hide within them real solar panels. According to Elon Musk, these special tiles appear to be normal but allow it to absorb the solar energy just like a classic solar panel. Each tile will be made of high-strength tempered glass and aesthetically will be available in four models to better adapt to the needs of our customers. No problem on the front of the resistance. For Elon Musk, these tiles can withstand any weather condition and are prepared for cliffs small accumulations of snow.
The solar roof has been developed by Tesla in collaboration with SolarCity, the company specializes in solar panels that Elon Musk is trying to buy. Tesla has not provided, however, the specific energy of the solar roof and, above all, its prices. The first installation is scheduled to start next summer.
with regard To the Powerwall 2, the new battery can store up to 14 kWh of energy with a power output of 5Kwh (7 Kwh peak). According to Tesla, the new battery provides infinite loops to use in 10 years. The new Powerwall 2 can be installed both inside and outside the home. The price of 5,500 dollars.
