Galaxy Note 7, removed support for Gear VR – Want …

due to the new cases reported by customers who have replaced the Galaxy Note 7, Samsung has suspended the sales of the phablet in the world. For security reasons, Oculus has updated the app to the viewer Gear VR, eliminating the support for the Galaxy Note 7.

After the call started for the original models and replacement with units believed to be safe, because the battery is manufactured by another company, it seemed that the problem had been solved in the best way. Several reports related to the new Galaxy Note 7 (at least five smartphones have caught on fire in the United States, however, have forced Samsung to stop production and then to suspend sales. The manufacturer has not used the word "recall" in the new release, but suggests to the customer to turn off the phablet and contact the place of purchase for a full refund or, in the alternative, a Galaxy S7/S7 edge, and the price difference between the two devices.

the risk of overheating, Oculus has removed support for the samsung Galaxy Note 7 from the app for Gear VR. If the user connects to the phablet to the viewer will see the following message:

the safety of The customer is the top priority of Oculus. Oculus are removing support for all devices Notes 7 on the platform Oculus. Until further notice, devices Notes 7 will not be compatible with the Gear VR. For more information about the Notes 7, please contact directly to Samsung.

In short, users who own a Galaxy Note 7 will not be able to use the viewer for the virtual reality. The decision of Oculus is definitely right, as they have in front of your face and eyes a product that is potentially explosive is not a good idea.

waiting for a second, and the inevitable recall of the official, the FAA has announced that passengers may not use or charge the Galaxy Note 7 to the edge, or place it in checked baggage. The phablet is a defective product that should not be placed on the market. Unlikely Samsung will succeed to regain the trust of consumers after this bad image.
