Galaxy S8: new design, better camera, and IA – Want …

As was to be expected, the resounding fiasco of the Galaxy Note 7 has taken a heavy toll on the profits of the Korean manufacturer (-30% compared to the third quarter of 2015). During a conference call, the Vice President of the mobile division Lee Kyeong-tae has tried to reassure investors, promising the improvement of the quality controls to avoid similar problems in the future, and great news for Galaxy S8.

After the numerous reports received, and two unnecessary calls, Samsung has withdrawn from the market, the Galaxy Note 7 and terminated its production. The cause of the overheating and explosion of the batteries still remains a mystery, despite the tests carried out by engineers. The manager of the Korean company, however, has guaranteed that it will be examined every aspect of the phablet (hardware, software, and production processes) to find the source of the problem and the final results will be communicated in public. The aim is clearly to prevent the like inconveniences with the Galaxy S8.

Lee Kyeong-tae has confirmed that the next top of the range will have a new design, a better camera and a new service of the artificial intelligence. According to the rumors circulating for several days, the Galaxy S8 should have a screen "bezel-less" 5.5-inch screen with 4K resolution and to integrate a dual camera rear. Can also the presence of processor Snapdragon 830 and Exynos 8895, 6 GB of RAM, the scanner of the iris, microSD slot, USB Type-C, and fingerprint reader based on optical technology.

The enhanced artificial intelligence will be the one developed by Viv Labs, a company acquired by Samsung at the beginning of the month. Unlike Siri and Cortana, Viv can perform more complex tasks and respond to more specific questions. In practice, the user can start a real a conversation in natural language. In anticipation of the new smartphone, Samsung will rely only on the Galaxy S7, the sales of which are proceeding at a sustained pace in spite of the damage caused by the Galaxy Note 7.
