HTC One A9 has arrived on the market with the hope that it will revive the fortunes of the giant Taiwanese.
After testing for a bit ‘of time the terminal we are ready to give our opinion on this device that turned out to be almost as expected.
Design and aesthetics
Packaged in typical packaging of HTC, the accessories are basic ones. Charger with quick charge technology , microUSB cable, clip for Nanosim, manuals and good ear.
HTC One A9 has dimensions of 145.75 x 70.8 x 26.7 mm and weighs only 143 grams . The device is made of aluminum of fine workmanship. Good grip, even if, as often happens on HTC devices, the feeling that they are delicate and can be scratched at any moment is always around the corner. On the back right is the volume rocker as well as the button on / off switch (knurled, very convenient because it’s easy to find in the dark). On the left are shown the two trolleys that allow the insertion of microSD and NanoSim. Below is the speaker system, the entrance to the microUSB and 3.5mm audio jack as well as the main microphone. On the back panel there is the 13-MPX camera with dual LED flash and a secondary microphone. On the front over the display is the capsule sound, the light sensor / proximity, the LED notification (which sometimes is not visible), the secondary camera from 4 ultrapixel and the only physical button which is touch and also it serves as a fingerprint reader . The latter is an incredible precision, while the user experience has never missed a shot.
Display and touch screen
display is a 5-inch full HD AMOLED with a density of 441 ppi . The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass.
The display quality is worthy of the current 2K (that never was) outstanding, excellent visibility even in the sun and well-defined colors.
touch screen is very fluid thanks to good system optimization, we never found jamming during use.
Hardware
The HTC One A9 processor is the ‘ octa-core 64-bit 1.7 GHz Snapdragon 615 with frequency . To support the work of Soc there are 2 GB RAM , very few to be a device that has to face the competition. However, the incredible optimization of the terminal allows to be able to perform all tasks always having a bit ‘of RAM available.
The internal memory of the device is from 16 GB , expandable with microSD. Thanks to the Android operating system Marshmallow the external memory card can be used as system memory , the cut 16 GB is therefore not a problem.
The GPU is Integrated into the processor or the ‘ Adreno 405. Good performance when gaming, the possible slow loading of the games is not due to the graphics card but the limited amount of RAM.
The internal battery is not removable from 2150 Mah . The day, with average use intense, can be covered easily by optimizing between hardware and operating system. The battery recharges quickly thanks to the charger with technology Quick Charge.
Audio speaker system is good while that of the speaker of system (mono) proved to be a bit ‘lower than the average guaranteed terminals HTC.
The terminal has WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1 and NFC. All three behave very well and do not create problems.
The navigation is guaranteed by ‘ A-GPS enhanced by GLONASS satellites. The test performed with Google Maps enabled us to get to your destination without a hitch . The signal is hooked quickly.
The maximum data connectivity is the ‘ LTE . The receiving terminal is excellent, we never had problems even when the signal was weak.
The suite of sensors of the terminal is very complete: accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor and light, compass and sensor hub.
Software and web browsing
The operating system of the terminal is Android Marshmallow . The perfect optimization with hardware to allow HTC One A9 to be always fluid and handsome , even when multitasking has several open applications.
The user interface is the latest HTC Sense 7.0 . Fluid and powerful, the new user interface is highly customizable thanks to several themes already available to the user.
The native browser is Chrome but it is useful to download the browser HTC Thanks to its new version allows browsing experience very interesting as well as handsome.
Camera
The main camera of the HTC One is A9 13 MPX . The photographs are of excellent quality also in macro. The double led flash interesting shots in the dark. This is possible by optimizing hardware and software of the photographic industry.
front camera 4 ultrapixel is of good quality snaps selfie interesting as long as there are the right conditions of brightness .
The camera software is comprehensive yet very simple to use.
Conclusion:
HTC One A9 was born to compete to the top of the range but probably would have been most appropriate place among the best medium-range . It is a terminal very nice aesthetically, vaguely reminiscent devices bitten apple, and handsome in everyday use. On the market there are, however, the most interesting at lower prices . The official cost of about 600 € is really inappropriate. Unofficially it is already possible accaparrarselo 500 € but, the real convenience in the quality / price ratio will be obtained only when the price will be around 400 €.
