(ANSAmed) – ROME, MARCH 9 – Shazam, the application recognizes that in a few seconds a piece of music ‘listening’ with the smartphone, will soon be able to go far beyond its space prince. As reported by several specialized sites, the app will help users quickly get to know also the physical objects they have before, using probably the recognition ‘visual’ or reading barcodes.
The application, which has about 100 million active users per month, up to now can recognize the music that you are listening by giving the user not only the specifications of the title and the author but offering direct links to the digital stores to purchase the song in question or to add it to the playlist of music streaming services like Spotify.
Speaking a few days ago at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, explains the site The Next Web, the chief executive Rich Riley explained that the application will become a sort of advanced version of Google Goggles, to frame an object with the camera of your smartphone – or its barcode, it is still unclear – and know what it is. Presumably also indicating where to buy it if it is a good sale. A use which might range from food to dvd.
Shazam in January has raised a loan of $ 30 million, which will be used to sign new partnerships with publishers and content providers. A figure that is in addition to $ 40 million collected by Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim in 2013. (ANSA).
