Internet Explorer has had its day, will give way to Project Spartan, code name and not definitive for the new browser that Microsoft will integrate into Windows 10 .
It is a sea change and a breakthrough, even social, by Microsoft. Internet Explorer has marked the epic story of the Internet, the stage calcandone stronger excessive power (but in many preferred to call it arrogance) of its operating system. The older people will remember the historic dualism with Netscape , but also of the dispute that has seen Microsoft first accused, and later convicted, because of its browser. It dates back to 2004, Competition Commissioner Mario Monti was then, the first EU to fine Microsoft, from 497 million euro .
Yet, despite the efforts, the Internet Explorer was never digested by users. Perhaps because then Microsoft was a giant powerful, certainly one of the few, and aroused envy and fear. Its products were considered too “regime” to be fashion and speak ill (rightly or wrongly) of its software, gave a certain charisma and was also quite cool.
Ironically today to command is Chrome , the Google browser, another multinational that today should really do fear (since it controls both the online advertising is information) and on the other hand, thanks to a social marketing targeted is still considered a company “against”, loved and respected.
You always want to be updated on Explorer goodbye. Ends an era and arrives Project Spartan?
