Watch Apple, the app that tells you how much time you have left to live – The Republic

Rome – There’s an app for everything, even to monitor the length of your life. It’s the idea – already experienced by other software – the foundation of Life Clock, an application designed for the Apple Watch is coming. Use and monitors the parameters of your health and gives you an estimate of how much you have left to live. Everything displayed on your wrist in a creepy countdown , in which time flows, a bit ‘as it happens to the protagonists of the science fiction film In Time.

But how does it work? The counts are added minutes if you adopt virtuous behaviors such as physical activity, or are subtracted if for example you are sleeping a few hours. On the web there are already other systems that calculate life expectancy (on the iPhone, for example, there is the Deadline app that is also a fee) but having one on your wrist that you remember it constantly at every glance is a ‘ hypotheses quite disturbing. Life Clock, storing your habits of daily life, is transformed into a “friendly” game: Have you eaten your daily ration of vegetables? Gains 36 minutes of life. Or are you all night around? You lose 25.

The idea in the intentions of the developers who created it wants, however, be “motivational”. “We want to encourage people to make good choices, giving a tangible demonstration of how today’s actions have an impact on the future,” says Mashable The Tom Bree, partners Rehabstudio, the company that designed it.
