The Earth is invested in these hours by a strong geomagnetic storm that over the skies of North America is giving stunning auroras. The event, triggered by the eruption of solar last Sunday, is the most intense ever recorded in the current solar cycle, lasting 11 years. This was announced by the US Agency for the atmosphere and the oceans (NOAA), which over the next few hours expected of decline.
The charged particles of the solar wind have forged ahead coming to hit our planet in earlier than they had planned to experts. The first impact occurred this morning around 5:30 (Italian time).
At first the phenomenon showed modest intensity, but with the passing of the hours began to grow to the fourth grade on a scale of five. Geomagnetic storms of this level can result in radio communications blackout for a few hours, as well as interference in satellite navigation systems and those used for communications from Air Force and Navy.
