WWF, tomorrow at 20.30 all the dark: shoot the Earth Hour – The Messenger

Tomorrow, between 20.30 and 21.30, will be the Earth Hour. Or the Earth Hour, a global event organized by WWF to raise awareness about global climate change that threatens the planet. Within 24 hours, there will be an hour of darkness in the world, with the citizens of each country invited to turn off all lights when set. A contribution will also
from space thanks to Samantha Cristoforetti that will launch an appeal from the International Space Station.

Following the different time zones, Earth Hour will travel around the world starting from the Pacific. In Italy for the initiative, which has received the patronage of the Presidency of the Republic, there are over 300-event planned shutdowns. In Rome, will remain in the dark the main buildings of the institutions, the Quirinal Deputies to the square of the Capitol, the major monuments such as the Colosseum, the Basilica of St. Peter, and also the synagogue of the Ghetto and the mosque.

In Milan will turn off the Castello Sforzesco and the Expo Gate, the Ponte Vecchio in Florence, Palazzo Vecchio and the statue of David in the Piazzale Michelangelo, in Bologna Palazzo Accursio, the Arena in Verona, in Naples the Angevin and Piazza Plebiscito, and yet similar initiatives in the historic buildings and monuments of Agrigento, Noto, Taranto, Cosenza, and in the Oases of the WWF.

On social event you can follow along with the hashtag #EarthHour and #unoralbuio. You can submit your photos to the site www.earthhour.org. On Twitter the Cristoforetti has already posted, through its accountastrosamantha, a photo of herself in the International Space Station with the sign “Change climate change” or “Change climate change.”
