Sunday night eclipse superluna: the show will be repeated in 2033 – The Messenger

A rare spectacle will be staged on the night between Sunday 27 and Monday 28.
The moon, which will appear larger than usual, will enter into a shadow caused by the Earth and take a dark red color.

The superluna eclipse is a phenomenon that since 1900 there has been only five times, most recently in 1982. The next will be in 2033. You can observe throughout North and South America , Europe, Africa, West Asia and the Eastern Pacific Ocean region.

The super moon occurs because the Moon does not travel in a circular orbit around the Earth, but an elliptical orbit, and in a month is not always the same distance from Earth, but at a distance ranging between a minimum (perigee) and a maximum value (apogee). The difference between the points of maximum and minimum is about 50,000 km, enough to make it appear 14% larger and 30% more light. In fact the difference between a normal full moon and the ‘Super version is virtually imperceptible to the naked eye.
