Snapchat gets paid: reversed course and follows the example of WhatsApp – The Messenger

Snapchat gets paid. The app became famous for messages and photos “disposable”, self-delete after a few seconds, as WhatsApp changes course.

The app betrays its origins and the principle of secrecy, and now allows users to dwell on the posts a bit ‘more, but for a fee. With an update released a few hours it allows users to purchase three replay to 99 cents.

For some time snapchat included a reproduction free day that will remain for all users. According to the company “every replay intended as a compliment,” then as a ‘Like’ on Facebook, “why stop at just one?”.

About two years ago is over instead of the era WhatsApp free: old subscribers continue to enjoy free messaging service, those who from 2013 onwards has downloaded the app pays an annual subscription of 99 cents. With the same update replay pay snapchat also introduced a new feature called Lenses, ie a filter designed specifically for selfie. Simply touch the screen after you take a photo and, down the post, will appear different editing options, including 3D effects.
