Accessories, indispensable to see their hands inside the virtual world, will be on sale from 6 December (pre-orders from October, 10) at a price of 199 dollars. The position in 3D space is drawn from a second sensor that works in conjunction with the one provided with the viewer. New minimum requirements
The current requirements include the use of a processor Intel Core i5-4590 and an Nvidia GPU GeForce GTX 970 or equivalent. Thanks to a technique called Asynchronous Spacewarp (ASW), the computer processes the content to 45 fps, but the images are displayed on the display at 90 fps. The system examines two frames in a row, analyses the differences and computes a spatial transform that generates a frame synthetic-based position and movement of the head.
The use of ASW allows you to connect the viewer to a computer with a processor Intel Core i3-6100 and Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 960. This means that users can have an experience with a VR for PC 500 dollars.
Oculus Avatar, Parties, and Rooms
The new social features are Avatars, Parties, and Rooms. Avatars allows you to create a ‘ virtual alter ego, choosing from among several possible combinations. The avatar, which will be available along with the controller, Touch, help you interact with other users. You can start a voice call (Parties) and to meet other people within a virtual room (Rooms) to play or watch a movie together. Parties and Rooms will come upon the Rift at the beginning of 2017 and on the Samsung Gear VR in the coming weeks.
