Project Titan: only software for the autonomous guide – Want …

Although the Apple has never officially confirmed to be working on an initiative related to the market of the four wheels, now by the time it comes to Project Titan, a program aimed at the realization of an electric car that can compete, for example, with the models made by Tesla. The idea may have been abandoned or at least temporarily set aside by the group from Cupertino.

To formulate the hypothesis of a source (that remains anonymous, but considered reliable) on the pages of Bloomberg. The bitten apple seems to have put the idea of becoming an automaker to focus its resources on the development of a software dedicated to the autonomous guide. In other words, a technology for the self-driving car, similar to the one on which Google is committed for several years now. The system would then intended to be brought to market through partnerships with third parties. Of course, from the headquarters of Apple, there has been no confirmation nor denial on the matter.

The decision may have been dictated by a'incorrect initial assessment: it seems in fact that the company Tim Cook has, at first, underestimated the difficulties related to supply components needed for the production of an electric vehicle. The work on Project Titan began in 2014, with COO Jeff Williams talked about it (albeit indirectly) for the first time the following year. This is the short statement.

The car is the mobile device the final, is it not so?

The team of Apple is working on a project and was up to date consisting of approximately 1,000 units, many of which could now be directed elsewhere. The source of the indiscretion today speaks of a deadline set for the 2017: then, the company will assess the progress made and decide once and for all how to modulate its commitment in the field of four wheels, if bringing forward the implementation of a vehicle, focusing on the development of a software for the self-driving car, or abandoning the whole idea.
