MacBook Pro 2016: the death of MagSafe – Want …

the arrival of The new MacBook Pro, and their innovative Touch Bar, marks the death of one of the features most loved by Apple users: MagSafe. As is now widely known, the Cupertino company has preferred to opt for the four-door USB-C, thus removing the support links of the type magnetic. And while this choice brings, on the one hand, the undeniable benefits to the user, it may limit the possibilities.

They talked for several weeks of the possible introduction in the new MacBook Pro, ports USB communication-C, compatible with the standard ThunderBolt 3. The hopes of being able to continue to use a connector that is magnetic, however, seemed still very high, at least until a few days ago Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst with a very reliable account of the bitten apple had in fact suggested the possible introduction of a system owner for these USB-C, always with the peculiarities of the magnet. So, however, was not.

Although the USB standard-C is not yet widely spread on the market, Apple brings many advantages. Not only in terms of speed of transmission, also support connections with the lightning-quick Thunderbolt 3, but also moltiplicazionee of resources: each port can serve as both as the output video that as a tool charging. This means that the user can upload his MacBook choosing any door that is at his disposal, not having to then worry about the inconvenience with the cables, between the left and right side of the device. Also, with the ever more extensive convergence of the market towards this standard, in the future you will be able to take advantage of a one charger for each device of the home, be it a MacBook, or a tablet or a smartphone.

While offering less versatility, MagSafe, however, offers the consumer a higher level of security. With its magnetic, in fact, prevents a long series of accidents in the home: treading accidentally on the cable, the connector is automatically disengaged from the device, without drag. That’s not insignificant, if you want to avoid accidental falls for a device even from the higher price to 2,000 euros. Apple has not motivated officially the death of MagSafe, or explained why they have not declined USB-C in the key card: do not exclude, however, the reasons be made known in the future.
