Dyn has stated that its services were back to normal at 9: 20am (15.20 in Italy), but has not revealed the source of the attack.

Other two attacks just hours away
the second attack against Dynamic Network Services has been launched in the afternoon, creating new problems and delays to users, and in a third attack came in the evening. Even in these cases the technique used is that of ‘saturation’ of the contacts (Ddos or Distributed Denial of Service) when a site is hit by a tsunami of requests for access which they are not able to cope, and then is made to place off-line.
