Tesla, Musk engineers looking car that drives itself – The Republic

THE GOOGLE car is almost a reality and is so advanced that it has already managed to get stopped by the police. The car signed Apple, instead, for now it’s just an idea. But more and more companies and automakers that link to the cars that drive themselves, from Mercedes to Volvo.

And then there’s the Tesla so now the driverless car has become a real priority. So much so that his number one, Elon Musk, man of many ideas and endless visionary projects, has called on Twitter to recruit software engineers, even without prior experience in the automotive industry, to be used in the project Autopilot. Musk writes that he himself will examine the applications and stresses that priority has Autopilot “super high”.

The manufacturer of electric cars is looking for “hardcore software engineers” to join the team that so far the system allows you to park or steer but not It allows a fully autonomous driving. Not surprisingly, Elon Musk define the project high priority, as in the past announced that the company will have a fully autonomous vehicle within three years.

The competition is not only a giant like Google but also with Apple, although the Cupertino company has never officially announced projects related to a hypothetical iCar. A few weeks ago Elon Musk had mocked Apple calling it “the cemetery of Tesla” for hiring employees laid off by the latter.
