Amazon Picking Challenge, two robots in Italian final – News 24 Games

Amazon is trying to become the most efficient and effective way possible, in the management of orders, shipments and goods, and in this excellent, though a few weeks ago we reported that it was able to obtain authorization to experience shipments not drones, today we are featuring a competition organized.

The e-commerce giant US organized the Amazon Picking Challenge, a competition between robots for warehouse, where compete thirty teams, to demonstrate the capabilities of its machines to handle the huge amount of orders that the Seattle company receives daily.

Among these, there are two well-Italian: the first team consists of the Politecnico di Torino and Comau, which will lead to a boom in Seattle two hands can move in six different sizes, while the second robot was designed by the Italian Research Center “E. Piaggio “University of Pisa and the Italian Institute of Technology.

The goal of the competition is primarily to advance the state of robotics research and at the end of the competition, which has three cash prizes symbolic, all software product should become open source, or available to the scientific community.
