From the Salvation Soybeans for Ecological disasters, cleans the sea by oil
For the environmental disasters we are now accustomed
Oil tankers and cargo ships which discharge their contents into the sea
And for that the waters are very polluted and endangered ecological disasters
Against oil pollution thinks soybeans .
This is confirmed by an American study that has developed a plant-based compound that can clean up the sea by oil, preventing further environmental impact caused by traditional solvents.
The research conducted by the American Chemical Society was published in the journal ACS Sustainable Chemistry & amp; Engineering.
The aim of the scientists was to find a replacement ecological chemicals commonly used to separate and absorb the oil from the water, which often have a high impact on the environment.
The US researchers factored soy lecithin, a surfactant used vegetable in the food industry, in its lipid components, and in laboratory tests these molecules have proven very effective in the “division” of crude oil into smaller particles that are easier to absorb and remove from the water.
According to the research, in fact, the use of the dispersant based on soy lecithin produces better results than two solvents currently used to clean up oil spills releasing toxic substances into the environment.
The second possibility researchers to break down the molecule of soy lecithin to obtain molecules that could decompose the oil particles to be removed from the waters of the seas and oceans. Comparisons were made with solvents that release toxic substances to the environment and soy lecithin that the contrary is not harmful.
This new solvent soy offered better results than what was used previously. The main characteristics is that this solvent absorbs molecules of crude oil in the short term and could help to make the healthiest for the seas.
It could really soy lecithin be an ally to fight the oil spill in the seas
Fingers crossed!
