Galaxy Note 7, iris scanners and safe folder – Webnews

The Galaxy Note 7 , presented yesterday at the event Unpacked 2016, it offers several new hardware than its predecessor, one of which is the scanners iris . This innovative biometric authentication system can replace the traditional fingerprint reader, thus ensuring greater safety. The new phablet will be available in Italy from 2 September at a price of € 879,00 .

Several hackers and security experts have verified that the fingerprint reader can be fooled using a rubber finger, obtained from an image impression. The iris scanner is a technology that provides better security, given the uniqueness of this colored membrane. It is also faster, more precise and touch-free , and easier to use. The recognition is done by the infrared camera front and the proximity sensor, placing your smartphone screen at a distance of between 25 and 35 centimeters.

The iris scanner can be used to unlock the phablet , make payments with Samsung Pay and move personal data in the Secure folder , a separate folder is protected by encryption. The less important files can be stored on the Samsung Cloud , the new storage service that offers 15GB of free storage.

The Galaxy Note 7 has a Quad HD screen 5.7-inch a dual edge type, Snapdragon 820 or Exynos 8890 processor, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, expandable with microSD cards. The cameras have a resolution of 0:05 megapixels, while the battery has a capacity of 3,500 mAh. The phablet is water resistant, includes a Type-C USB port and is compatible with the Gear VR viewer for virtual reality.
