Apple relies on Intelligence articial, buys startup Turi – ANSA.it
Apple invests on artificial intelligence by detecting, for 200 million dollars, the startup Turi, specializing in machine learning systems. The news, not officially confirmed, is Bloomberg, that the acquisition will power Siri, Apple’s virtual assistant.
The operation is part of battle between big as Apple, Google and Facebook within artificial intelligence in particular and, in the so called “pervasive computing”, that is, the capacity of the machine to automatically infer what a user wants or needs.
For the house of Cupertino is not the first acquisition of startups focused on artificial intelligence: in January found Emotient, specialized in recognizing facial expressions, while in 2015 he bought VocalIQ and Perceptio to enhance Siri.
