Facebook against adblocker: no more filters to the ad on the bulletin board – BBC

advertising survives the adblocker. At least on Facebook, which announced some changes to combat those software that block on browsers listings and therefore also on the board of the social network. The reason? “Some companies that realize adblocker accept money to show the ad that they had previously blocked – a practice that still confuses more people and reducing the funding that serve to support journalism and other free services that we use on the web.” Just like Facebook, “and ads support our mission of giving people the power to share and make the world more open and connected.” Adblock Plus, one of the programs most commonly used to block the advertising inserts browser, called the choice of Facebook “unhappy.”

On the advertising they decide the users

the changes concern only the desktop version. Of Mobile, Facebook can – for the time being – continue to be released from banner. But only from the browser: the app has long been immune to adblocker. Bypass the blocks, but empower users: In the same post, the social network has also promised more control over ads that appear on the bulletin board, to eliminate advertising yes, but only the “bad.” People can manually remove some preferences that the algorithm has chosen for them by the settings, “for example, you can delete the banner on the world of cats even if that profile has been categorized as belonging to a lover of cats.” A little ‘sugar to digest the pill to those who had received with joy a way out of the annoying advertising.
