(AGI) – Inflation in China slows in July, losing speed for the third consecutive month. Last month, consumer prices rose by 1.8% from + 1.9% in June, the lowest growth for seven months. The figure was in line with economists’ estimates. The National Bureau of Statistics which released the data indicated that the slowdown in growth in food prices (+ 3.3% from + 4.6% in June) was the main factor that has weighed on inflation. The result is well below the Beijing estimates that provides for inflation to 3% this year. On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose by 0.2% compared with -0.1% in June. The same Bureau of Statistics also announced that producer prices fell 1.7% in July, compared with -2.6% in the previous month. It was the 35th decline on an annual basis row. Analysts had expected a drop of 1.9%. Yesterday were released trade data that have cast shadows on the economy of the Dragon. China’s foreign trade, both exports from the side and from that of imports, recorded a slowdown, suggesting a further weakening of international demand.
