Last year, Facebook acquired WhatsApp, the most popular messaging service via the Internet, for $ 19 billion, and seems to have begun testing a certain level of integration between the two services . Appearing in a new version of the app for Android (v 31.0.0.7.13), Facebook allows users to send and share the news directly to WhatsApp.

The new feature appears as a button ” Submit “next to the” Share “button in the bar sharing a post. You can then share the article with a user in the contact list of WhatsApp.

However, please note that you do not find the button using Facebook V32, so perhaps this feature is only available to some users, beta testers. In the image below you can see two screens, one with the “Send” button and that without the integration of WhatsApp.

To what extent WhatApp Facebook and will eventually be integrated with one l ‘ else we do not know at the time. Previously, the CEO of WhatsApp Jan Koum said that the application will continue to operate independently, following the acquisition by Facebook, but that does not mean that the two applications could not begin to share some common characteristics.

Rumors also indicate that in the future the two applications will share the ability to send messages between them, effectively sharing their lists of contacts. There is also the possibility that Facebook may be interested to integrate its technology called Voice of WhatsApp (introduced on Android at the time).

For Facebook, just have users who share additional content between the two platforms likely to have more ad revenue. However, the integration could help bring new users to each of the two platforms – those who have WhatsApp but is registered in Facebook could subscribe to the messaging service, and vice versa.

We’ll have to see how and when ‘ integration with WhatsApp will arrive in Facebook Messenger , or if the company intends to keep the two platforms clearly separated.

WhatsApp and voice calls

WhatsApp included by the end of March the functionality of voice calls in the version of the app for Android devices. WhatsApp has begun distributing the function of voice calls several weeks ago, instead of making it available to all at once and with one update. E ‘was used a kind of system to call, in which a user has viewed activate the function only when it is called by another user already with the active function. And so it has been for several weeks, but thanks to the Update v2.12.19 function is extended to all. As for the interface, the call function adds the tab ‘Calls [Call]‘ alongside the tab ‘Chat’ and ‘Contact’ at the top. The interface call is fairly simple, which shows the name and image of WhatsApp of the person you are calling.

Voice calls will also come in the app of Facebook? Still do not know.
