Space X Falcon 9 fails landing on a barge: broke a “leg” – The Messenger

Launched: at 19:42 SpaceX private space agency launched a rocket from California with the goal of putting a satellite into orbit weather.

Just like last December 21, the first stage of Falcon 9 rocket will attempt a controlled re-entry and automatic to the ground, but with an extra difficulty: should land on a barge in the Pacific!

Actually SpaceX has already tried other times but it went wrong. I wonder if this time you succeed in the enterprise to land the rocket in automatic mode on a barge.

++++++ The launch and the separation of the first and second stage he failed. Now a few minutes between the first stage will attempt landing!

++++++++ He lost the signal, should not be a positive sign

++++ ++++ The first stage should have hit the ground several minutes ago but still there is no news of his state

Among the technical tension is felt in the skin, still no news

++++++ It is not known what happened to the first stage but the main mission continues successfully. It seems that the first stage had an accident when landing on the barge. It seems to have been an impact of charge hard to damage a significant portion of the carrier.

++++++++ too much waiting, probably the first stage of the rocket was destroyed or remained irreparably damaged

From the control center: “First Stage on target at droneship but looks like hard landing; broke landing leg. ” In essence at the time of impact with the barge, the rocket (or rather the first stage) has broken a “leg”. That part of the Falcon has three legs on which to rest and if it fails one of the support structure falls. On 21 December, the company had been easier as the arrival was expected to land. On a barge all becomes much more difficult and the motion of the waves does not contribute to the stability of the structure.

“The first stage fell too fast and one of the supports would be broken, so the Falcon 9 has lying on its side. ” It ‘was the final comment of the control room. And that brings us to the fifth failure, the only mission of returning successful (but in that case the drop was due to the ground and not on a barge), it took place last December 21. But there is to swear that Elon Musk, Tesla’s patron, do not lose heart and definitely will try again.
