Martin Minsky: salutaci Alan, Blaise and Charles – Read Today

We can replicate our brain? Martin Minsky thought so. And I am convinced that one day not only replicate but we can also enhance it. If we think that Nikola Tesla at the end of ’800 spoke networks and real-time communication in the world, spoke of wi-fi and transmission of energy, believing that one day – as Martin Minsky (which unfortunately leaves us) was – you can replicate the human brain is not surprising.

Who was Martin Minsky ? Another of the many fathers of the internet (he worked for the ARPANET to be exact), eclectic, inventor, musician, idealistic, visionary, computer expert in Artificial Intelligence.
Already I see him up there in the cloud (so called the paradise of the computer) to make common cause with Alan Turing, Pascal and Babbage! The four musketeers to talk about how the droids invade the planet making the fortune of some rival of Steve (Jobs for instance), which of course is specifically excluded from the quartet felt the same way because of Cardinal Richelieu.

I deal with artificial intelligence, but I am a fan of the “human brain” and read everything that happens to me on the subject. To this I say that even after all our brains, and powerful tool that has a soul of its own, often acts as a computer (word which means antiquated computer).

I firmly believe that one day to there will be some help thinking machines. In fact we are nourished from childhood programs: the program Mom, Dad program, the program friends, etc. Depending on how we planned then act accompanied by our emotions, which in turn feed on programs and memories. See the film ‘Inside Out’ helps to understand better.

Perhaps not everyone is aware of these studies, but human behavior is the result of mental programs that family, school, friends, historical and social condition. We see it in life everyday. There are people who do things unthinkable for us, but for them pensabilissime. Their program is different from yours, so you become strange.

The phone seemed unthinkable … so one day we will have a car that will take some of the decisions (perhaps the smartest of our politicians) by selecting one of the many options. While you will think that the coffee without sugar is bitter but, spite to most people like it with sugar, you take it bitter. Then they will bring well: black, hot and bitter. Decision, for a computer, very easy to take today.

One wonders however whether the computers can grow fond or bitter, making decisions and reasoning typical of the human mind can create something?

I think so, because even more study the man I think 99% is pretty stupid: not prendimo fact reasonable decisions, we are guided by emotions. Even when we say we think of We did not do it and the instincts guide us. But what are impulses or emotions if not pre-processed programs that we somehow inherited?

It remains to be seen how robots can create from nothing melodies, paintings, poems, films, works that enchant millions of people. So how does our brain today, because here I have a theory: every time we connect to the internal network (the world we do not see) and the network of ideas that we copy in trasformiao works (thank Plato from which I draw liberally) . So also our robot will draw from the past and then invent something new.

In this little space I have left (of time, not of physical space of course) I see the big face smiling Martin to which I send my personal greeting, singing the nursery rhyme of Hal (since he was also a consultant for ’2001 Space Odyssey’)
Giro circle, I ride around the world. Silver stars constant five. One hundred and fifty and the Moon sings, the Sun beholds the earth turning, turning turning round the globe as …
