While we await confirmation that will arrive with the New York event in the scene by 18:00 hours, here is what we know at the moment on the two new phone of bigG. the Google Pixels and Google Pixel XL were born from the new collaboration between the group of Mountain View and HTC to define a new standard in the smartphone segment. Two devices based on the technology of Android, with specifications from top of the range and prices that put them right in the high end of the market. Those who choose to buy them can count on receiving immediate official updates for the next few years.

Pixels and Pixels XL: specifications

let’s Start from the smallest model, Pixel. This is a phone with 5-inch display equipped with AMOLED panel with Full HD resolution (1920×1080 pixels, 441 ppi) covered by Gorilla glass 4 Corning. The computing power is provided by the presence of quad core processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 2.15 GHz, with 64-bit architecture and accompanied by 4 GB of RAM. With regard to the storage, instead, you can choose between the 32 GB version and the much more capacious 128 GB, of course, in the face of an economic expenditure increased. There is no slot for reading microSD cards.

Passing to the portfolio in imaging, on the back there is a camera 12.3-megapixel with optics with aperture f/2.0, system OIS for stabilization of the shots and pixel size equal to 1.55 µm. The sensor on the front for selfie and video calling is instead of 8 megapixel. In the tab technique, the fingerprint sensor for authentication, the USB Type-C, the audio jack 3,5 mm for earphones, the NFC sensor and a battery 2.770 mAh with fast charging (up to seven hours of battery life in 15 minutes).

Pixels XL is great and comes with a screen: 5.5 inch with a resolution of Quad HD (2560×1440, 534 ppi), always AMOLED display and a surface area of Gorilla Glass 4. The rest of the specifications remain unchanged, with the exception of the more capacious battery from 3.450 mAh battery.

The first thing that leaps to the eye by observing the Pixels and Pixels XL, taking into account the design, is the difference in size. The smaller model has an overall dimension equal to 143x8x69x5x8x6 mm and a weight of 143 grams, while the largest one is salt 154,7×75,7×8.6 mm and 168 grams. Two of the colours available at launch: black-and-white.

Software

The operating system pre-installed at launch is Android 7.1 Nougat, the first major update to the N Release of the platform. There is obviously the full integration with all the services of bigG, including the Assistant Google based on artificial intelligence that simplifies the interaction with the app and helps in the search of information.

Availability and pricing

regarding the prices, Google has chosen to place Pixels and Pixels XL in the high end of the market, in order to compete directly with the competition of devices such as the iPhone 7, Huawei P9 or the Samsung Galaxy S7. The rumors speak of an outlay that starts from 649 $ for the 32gb version of the smaller model, then growing to the other variants. The arrival on the market seems to be fixed for the 20th of October, as anticipated from the canadian operator Rogers.
