Apple, recycling is worth gold: millions of dollars saved – Tom’s Hardware

The recycling of electronic components, as well as having a very important environmental value, can be a good way to Save . This is the case of Apple . The house of Cupertino has released in recent hours a report on environmental liability, revealing that the recycling of the old iPhone and other products has saved a lot of money.


 
 
 
 

The company has been able to recover over 61 million pounds of raw material from old devices, of which 2200 pounds (about one ton) of gold. The Apple prices has saved $ 40 million only in gold , to which are added about 6.4 million copper dollars (3 million pounds) and 3.2 million aluminum dollars ( 4.5 million pounds).

 
 
 
 

The house of Cupertino also retrieves silver for $ 1.6 million , in addition to nickel, zinc and lead. Only in 2015 Apple has collected a total of 90 million pounds of materials, in practice 71% of the total weight of all products sold seven years ago.


 
 
 
 

Recently, Apple has spoken of its commitment to environmental sustainability and presented Liam, an automated robot that can disassemble the iPhone up to the basic components for easy recycling.
