a Few days ago, the Guardian had published an article on the possible specifications of the Galaxy S8. The well-known leaker Evan Blass, has now confirmed the report of the british newspaper, adding other interesting information about the smartphone that the Samsung is expected to announce at the end of march, including the prices for the european market.
The Galaxy S8 will be offered in two versions, both with dual displays edge. The model of larger size, shown in the image, it will have a screen from the 6.2 inches with a resolution of Quad HD, while for the "smallest" is intended to be a display of 5.8 in. The aspect ratio will be 18,5:9, and the Super AMOLED panel will cover approximately 83% of the front surface (the screen-to-body ratio of the current Galaxy S7 and S7 the edge are 72% and 76%). The screen is also pressure sensitive. L'deletion of the Home button and the logo will allow you to reduce the thickness of the frames and the overall size.
The hardware includes processors Snapdragon 835 and Exynos (depending on market), 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of flash memory, expandable with microSD cards up to 256 GB. The rear camera will have a resolution of 12 megapixels with an aperture of f/1.7 and you will be able to perform the visual search of objects placed (useful for example for shopping) and the recognition of the text. To the right of the camera there will be the fingerprint reader, while next to the front camera to 8 megapixels (aperture f/1.7) will be placed in the scanner of the iris.
On the bottom side of the Galaxy S8 there will be the USB Type-C and the audio jack 3.5 mm. Batteries will have a capacity of 3,000 mAh (5.8 inches) and 3,500 mAh (6.2 inches). The version of the operating system is not known (perhaps Android 7.1.1 Nougat), while it is certain the presence of the personal assistant based on artificial intelligence (Bixby). The leaker also confirms the availability of the accessory DeX, a dock that will allow you to connect mouse, keyboard and monitor, transforming the smartphone into a desktop Android.
As is known, the two Galaxy S8 will not be announced at Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona. Samsung would have instead held a Unpacked event in New York city for the 29 march. The arrival on the market is expected for the April 21. Bad news, finally, regarding the prices. The leaker says that there will be an increase of 100 euros compared to the Galaxy S7. European users will have to shell out 799 euro for model 5.8-inch and 899 € for a 6.2-inches. Considered to be the main taxes in force in our country, the Italian prices will be definitely higher.
