Finger-smartwatch and sound goggles, ready for China – ANSA.it

Turning a simple finger smartwacth or restore sight to the visually impaired thanks to the sounds seem impossible ideas but they are already real products (all made made in Italy) and now prepare to conquer China. They are two of the four winning projects selected in #RoadToSuccess, the event organized by the collaboration between IngDan, the largest Chinese web platform of the so-called Internet of Things products (IoT), and Maker Faire Rome, which took place today in Rome.

“Get seems a simple bracelet, but lets you talk on the phone by simply placing an ear,” said Edward Parini finger, founder with his brother Emanuele of this ‘low-cost’ smartwatch. To make this possible are the bones of the body: in the bracelet hides a small speaker and vibration (or sound) is transmitted almost perfectly along the bones of the hand up to the eardrum.

It’s not just an idea, but a real product that could go short on the market and that will allow everyone to be able to chat on the phone by simply placing a finger on the ear. Other award-winning project is Horus, a headset with speakers and cameras designed get: by Saverio Murgia, and capable of transforming the images into a voice. Horus is particularly designed for the visually impaired, and through an analysis software is able to describe the environments and even recognize people. Winners were also the sensor system Iomote and platform for the control of autonomous drones Archon fleets.

During the event were presented in just 180/2 twenty of the best Italian projects submitted to the latest Maker faire Rome, which took place in October within the space of Wisdom, who will return 14 to 16 October at Fiera di Roma. From sports to food up to robotics and education, the 20 projects came from all over Italy, and at the end of the day were selected 4, which will now have the opportunity to conquer the Chinese market.

“These are all examples of ‘new’ made in Italy, born to small businesses but ready for the market, “explained Marco Mistretta, CEO of IngDan. “Our goal – he added, is to promote these products and as a ‘bridge’ to help them enter the international markets, especially in China in Shenzhen valley, the area that is home to the largest electronics manufacturing in the world.”
