One Life to Social: Sanremo Police and Carlo Conti teach young people how to surf the web without risk – The Messenger

On the day of the Safer Day the State Police is also present in Sanremo during the Festival of Italian song with the education campaign against the risks of the web “by A Social” Life. The presenter Carlo Conti was a guest along with some students of the truck of the Police Post where the cops have turned the Post invitations and advice to young people for safe web browsing. As part of the initiatives promoted to celebrate the Safer Internet Day 2016, which will take place on February 9, the Postal and Communications Police, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, University and Research, organized workshops on issue of cyberbullying in schools in the provinces.

the event is scheduled in schools of 100 Italian provincial capitals. The Postal and Communications will meet over 60 thousand children on the occasion of Safer Internet Day Police with the slogan “Play your part for a Better Internet” or “Play your part for a better Internet.” One Life to social, as many know by now, is a traveling project developed by the Postal and Communications Police in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and funded by the European Commission as part of the Generations Connected initiative, which aims to help users of the network to surf safely and deal with awareness and control data shared online. The initiative also has its own Facebook page unavitadasocial, in which records all activities and impressions of the young students.

The goal of the training is to teach kids to exploit the communication potential of the web and online communities without running risks related to cyberbullying, infringement of the privacy of others and their own, uploading of inappropriate content, copyright infringement and the adoption of incorrect or dangerous behavior for himself and for others. Training on safety issues and the responsible use of the network is a daily commitment of the State Police and the collaboration with the Ministry of Education, University and Research is absolutely crucial. A commitment is also borne out by recent data published by Norton Cyber Security Insights Report, on the relationship between young and online security. The report shows that 92% of Italian parents said he was concerned about the online safety of their children, and three out of four said they had taken precautions to protect them.

Most measures used by parents were the restrictions on access to some websites (53%) and to the information they post about them on their social networks (51%), together with those that their children can share with their circles of friends online (47%). In addition, 42% of Italian parents said incidents of cybercrime suffered by children, the most frequent of which were downloading a virus on their PC or on that of the family (20%), replies to phishing emails (9% ), episodes of smishing (the variant of SMS phishing) and violations of company profiles (both in third place in the standings, with 8% of the responses).

in this context, the major concerns of parents concern for 61% fear that their children may give too much information to strangers, 59% fear that they may be duped to encounter bad guys and 53% that they may suffer bullying or harassment. Initiatives such as the World Day dedicated to Internet security – now celebrated in more than 100 countries – are very important because they help to bring the security of the network to the attention of a large number of users, especially adults, who are now in our country ones less aware of the importance of educating children to make safe, informed and responsible of the web.
