This is actually the first prize in the For proper recycling of used tires , promoted by Legambiente and Ecopneus, a company that deals with the management of used tires (Pfu) .
The competition is open to all secondary schools of first and second degree of Apulia; participants are asked to create a video spot on the management of Pfu, where it is obvious a positive message about the benefits of proper recycling.
The tire trade has in fact several problems, including the sale in black which feeds the abandonment of used tires, thus favoring pollution and wasting precious material such as rubber, which can be recycled.
A jury composed of representatives of Legambiente, Ecopneus, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Environment will decide the winners.
The first class will be classified the resurfacing of a sports school (gym or an outdoor complex with a maximum area of 25×35 meters) with materials containing rubber derived from Pfu.
The competition also provides other awards always made of recycled rubber: classes second and third classified will have five items of furniture for internal or external, such as bicycle racks, benches and so on.
