The system, for now in preview for a few users, resulting in real-time voice conversations via chat platform of Microsoft. The first phase of the preview of Translator was filed in December and now takes a leap forward with two idioms particularly complex, especially with regard to the Mandarin, as recalled by Microsoft in the official blog of the application, has about 10,000 characters and multiple tones and is one of the most difficult languages to master for a native English speaker, as well as Arabic, Japanese, and Korean. Skype Translator automatically learns the different ways of speaking people. After hearing the sentence, a system that Microsoft calls ‘neural network’ the analyzes and compares millions of previously recorded audio samples, transforming it into a sequence of possible words in text format. At this point, the system removes any repetitions, interlayer and stuttering, making the best choice possible between the words that have a similar sound. The result is a text that is translated, even with the comparison between the various idioms in different languages, and is played by voice in the other language. To avoid errors, however, next to the text translated Skype will leave even the original written in the chat. The recognition of the language, says Microsoft, is done by the system while the person on the other side of the screen is still talking. And will continue to do so while the translation is still in progress: you will indeed hear the translation at full volume and the voice of a lower volume, so follow the translation and have a conversation more fluid. There is also an option ‘mute’ to toggle quickly the audio translation, in case you prefer to only read the transcript.
