Facebook, thanks to a feature called ‘It Happened Today’ transforms the book of faces in a scrapbook. Each day will show users what happened in their social life on that date, but in previous years. In essence it is a way to rediscover pictures and post shared at a distance of one, two, three or more years. The content will be shown only to the user, who can choose to republish or delete them if the memories are not so pleasant.
The novelty, being distributed worldwide on desktop and mobile devices , will have a dedicated page on the user’s profile, called just ‘happened today’. To see it, you can click on the bookmark in the ‘News’, try ‘It Happened Today’ or visit facebook.com/onthisday. A news could also be shown in the ‘News’.
On the page you can then choose to enable notifications, so as to be alerted when there are memories past, change, and delete old posts or decide to share them with friends.
