In France you can pay with a tweet. The agreement between the social network and one of the largest French banks, the BPCE has been reached and will be presented in detail at a press conference in Paris.
The French bank must set the service S-Money and will offer the opportunity to make transactions via twitter, regardless of the bank where the account is opened, and without the need of having to enter all the bank details of the beneficiary.
The service will enjoy the standard security protocols, the same that are activated when you use the credit cards on the internet. It is not yet clear whether the transaction will be visible to followers or remain private. And ‘one of the strategies to be able to monetize online conversations.
On the other hand the head of the company’s San Francisco had already declared its intention to take this route in order to increase revenues. They tried an experiment in progress from September: the “Twitter Buy” that appears in the profiles from September American giants such as Burberry or in those of musicians, see Pharrell.
And the competitors are not in watch. Facebook announced the option of sending money through chat messenger. And Apple is going to launch the Apple Pay service available on the latest iPhone 6.
