Maker Faire 2015. Ideas, Technology and Innovation – The Messenger

(AGI) – It is closed on Sunday the international event Maker Faire 2015.
The success of the event was demonstrated by the large number of visitors, more than 100,000 visitors, which has flooded the exhibition halls located inside the ‘University of Rome “La Sapienza”. The credit for the success goes to the curators, Massimo Brazi, co-founder of the Arduino project and Riccardo Luna, adviser for innovation of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, which has succeeded in attracting major sponsors such as INTEL, ENI, Google and Microsoft and have the collaboration of the Lazio Region and Unioncamere. Many exhibitors, many curiosities, few fruits, so at a glance you can represent this year’s event which saw a large participation of companies whose core business relates to 3D printing, true queen of the event. Drones and robots, more than in the previous edition, were the new protagonists of Maker Faire. A two-meter tall robot has symbolically cut the ribbon, many “artisans of doing” have ventured into presenting their radio controlled aircraft and an aviary was paid to the evolution of the drones. In all stands the protagonist was the public involved as possible in accordance with the philosophy of the show, which could very often touch and try out the present inventions. But Maker Faire is not just technology, is especially culture. Culture that wants to abolish the restricted areas of the laboratories and to bring the “maker” to the industry, and push for new initiatives such as the 25 startups that have been held this year in the halls of the fair. The watchwords of Maker Faire were curiosity, entertainment, education and family. A large space has been reserved for children, from elementary schools to high schools, in order to contribute to the design and implementation of computer and electronic ideas and come into contact with a changing world and promising.
