A little less than four months since launch, Tim Cook unveiled Apple’s numbers Music. He did it during the WsjDLive, event of the Wall Street Journal, on the sidelines of which he also spoke of the imminent arrival of the new Apple TV in American history. Apple Music, reported the CEO of Cupertino, currently has about 15 million users. Of these, however, only 6.5 million have signed a subscription fee, while the remaining 8.5 million are still taking advantage of the three-month trial.

Apple Music, it should be remembered, was launched June 30 last year and is currently available in 100 countries. The cost of the monthly (after a free mode offered for the first 3 months) of 9.99 euro, while there is a package “family” to 14.99 euro (6 accounts). No mode of subscription free with advertisements, style Spotify to speak.

And Spotify remains the enemy number one. Given the numbers released today by Cook, the path seems long and winding for Cupertino. Spotify, according to the latest data, can count on 75 million subscribers, including more than 20 with a paid subscription. Of course, the service of the startup made in Sweden was launched in 2008, while Apple Music has only four months. The lack of free option, however, seems to play against Cupertino. The next 12 months will be crucial.
