Amazon announces Chromecasts and Apple TV – The Software

Amazon has decided to stop sales Chromecast and Apple TV . The announcement, a surprise, arrived today.
According to company spokesman Jeff Bezos – and this is the official version – Chromecasts is that Apple TV would not work well with Prime Video , the service in the US, in much the same way as does Netflix, allows users to buy video content.
Amazon is hiding behind an excuse so that, frankly, does not seem convincing at all.

The company not only no longer sell Chromecasts and Apple TV but, by October 29, will eliminate all product data sheets published by third-party vendors.

It is not known, for the moment, if Amazon intends use the iron fist with Chromecasts and Apple TV only in the United States or in other countries, including Italy (where, however, the Prime Video service is not available).
is certain is that even in the Italian attitude against the two devices seemed to change now for a few weeks. At present, in fact, both devices do not appear to be directly sold by Amazon and the price rose to € 41 after that in recent days had fallen to 29 euro (35 euro from the normal price list). Perhaps Amazon has decided to sell the latest inventories at a lower price and then stop marketing?

Can not remember, though, as Chromecasts has long been one of the top selling ever on Amazon (and is likely that the 2.0 Chromecasts presented these days Google launches Chromecasts 2.0 and Chromecasts Audio – could collect such a reception).

It therefore seems likely that Amazon sees in Chromecasts and Apple TV rivals of Fire TV, and the Fire TV Stick. The decision could then be also motivated by the desire to clip the wings of the competition and do not want to update their apps so that they are fully compatible with Chromecasts and Apple TV.
