During the first day of the I / O 2016, Google has shown its vision of the future, presenting some news related to applications for communication, a dedicated device to the domestic and talking about N coming to Android smartphones and tablets. On the second day the focus was catalyzed by the announcement relating to support for running Android apps (distributed via Play Store) on the line computer Chromebook. The third and last day, however, was the day of ATAP .
The team Advanced Technology and Projects, recently orphaned by Regina Dugan, seems to have lost its air of innovative. We have already been discussed on these pages of Project Ara and Project Jacquard. The latest demonstration came from Mountain View regards Project Suns . initially unveiled last year, it is a system that, thanks to a radar component allows you to interact with the devices (especially those wearable ) without any contact. The demo showed an example of how you can control a smartwatch with simple gestures of the hand and fingers, staying away from the screen.
The beneficiaries will thus be the first Android Wear platform, which will soon see the debut version 2.0 with a significant number of improvements and progress. In concrete terms, the main benefit will consist in having more space on the dial available to display information while interacting with the app, as part of the panel will not be covered by the user’s fingers as it happening today.
Google aTAP left to guess that Project Suns will be innovative in other areas, such as the home, for example to control the playing music through speaker Bluetooth present inside the house, while remaining meters away. At the moment we do not know when to come on the market the first products equipped with the technology.
