iPhone 7, new confirmation for the absence of the headphone jack – Tom’s Hardware

It seems now definitively confirmed that the iPhone 7 will not have the jack for headphones . To confirm the many reports previously appeared, in fact, we thought the Wall Street Journal and CNBC. The Wall Street Journal, which published a long article on the subject, also confirms that the other innovations will be “minor.”

Nothing that we had not already heard in recent months, but a few days ago there was a rumor that the 3.5 mm jack would remain in place. It seems that Apple will eliminate it, however, and in doing so be able to reduce a bit ‘thickness iPhone and also to improve water resistance. To use headphones so will the Bluetooth connection and Lightning port; in the latter case you will need a pair of compatible headphones or an adapter. One thing which has already been the case with the recent Moto Z.

2017 , one of the decade, we rather expect major changes which, among other things, the introduction of AMOLED screen and the elimination of the Home button, which will be integrated directly into glass.

It would be for Apple change in the usual strategy , whereas so far Apple has revamped the design of the iPhone every two years. Might be an exception, in order to concentrate the big news in 2017 – ten years after the first model. Or it could be a permanent change.

In any case, remember the WSJ reporter, is a change that comes at a precarious time to Apple. This year, for the first time, there was a drop in sales. Still they sell millions of iPhone and Apple is in excellent health, but markets are fickle and the business goes into panic if the growth is not constant, and possibly lush.

So it seems increasingly likely that the iPhone 7 (but there are also doubts on the name) will not trigger the traditional increase in sales, and that Apple decides to postpone everything until next year. The same Cook recently said that there are great things to come, things that will make us believe that they can not live without an iPhone.

It’s up to each of us to decide if and how serious this change. often use headphones with the cable? It would be a problem to use an adapter? Or you are long gone to the wireless mode and it does not touch you?
