Elon Musk does not stop to set goals and to amaze us with his statements. Having “conquered” the world with some of his creations – PayPal, Tesla Motors and Space X – the visionary South African now arises another ambitious goal not impossible to raggiugere: conquer Mars by 2024 . Musk having “won” the Earth, the beautiful blue pearl that is hosting us, could “conquer” even the red planet.
When ‘man able to set foot on another planet, will be a landmark, a historic moment that will mark the history of humanity. A similar feat course creates quite a buzz. However we must not forget that setting foot on the Martian surface, or on any other planet is not a walk.
How Elon Musk thinks he can conquer the red planet? Most likely it will be used last generation “spacecraft” such as Dragon 2 capsule able to carry up to a maximum of seven astronauts and able to guarantee their safety for at least 14/15 months. You also have to think that, from here to eight years, almost certainly a number of improvements will be made to these spacecraft which will provide even more stability for the astronauts who will be invited to participate in the most important space mission of their careers.
in order to reach Mars by 2024, the date set by the Elon Musk, you have to start the first tests as of now. Even the astronauts themselves that will be used in this historic mission will have to prepare as it should be seen that the journey to the closest planet to Earth will not last less than 180 days. The first “stone” of this project will be placed next September, when it will be officially announced the mission during an international event dedicated to space exploration.
