The new frontier of sales has been developed by Amazon, who has opened a grocery store hi-tech: thanks to technologies such as artificial intelligence, manages to track everything that you get, and charge the expense as if they were purchases made online.
The giant of electronic commerce has opened a food of about 160 square meters in his hometown, Seattle.
Called the Amazon Go, at the moment it is available to employees of the company for a test phase, but at the beginning of 2017 will also be open to the public. According to the Wall Street Journal, the company is going to launch two thousand shops.
The special feature is the technology that allows you to recognize both what is being taken from the shelves, is what is put in place, and then not bought it, identifying every single user through the app on your smartphone. The system, which Amazon has not revealed a lot, takes advantage of intelligence and vision artificial, along with some of the technologies present on the car is autonomous.
In the shop are sold fresh or packaged food of famous brands and local producers. There are bread and bakery products, milk and cheese, but also ready meals and “Meal Kit”, which packs with all the ingredients to cook a meal for two in half an hour. After the advent of digital, Amazon is investing more and more in physical stores: opened three mainstream libraries in California, Oregon and Washington, the other two are in Illinois and Massachusetts.
