Samsung Galaxy Note 8, the batteries of LG? – Want …

In the coming days is expected to publish a report that will reveal the reasons for which the battery of the Galaxy Note 7 could explode in some circumstances. Regardless of the results of the investigations, Samsung would have already decided to use the battery of LG Chemical for Galaxy Note 8. According to a source in korea, the agreement between the two companies has not yet been concluded, but there’s a good chance to go into port at the beginning of 2017.

Samsung had attributed the overheating and explosion of the Galaxy Note 7 to the battery subsidiary Samsung SDI, in particular the contact between the anode and the cathode. The problem is presented again with the batteries of the chinese Amperex Technology Limited. The second Instrumental, the most likely cause is the design too aggressive chosen by the Korean manufacturer. Engineers have launched an internal investigation whose results should be disclosed publicly by the end of the year, but will first be sent to two external laboratories for an independent review. Meanwhile, from Korea comes an indiscretion according to which the partner of choice for the battery of the Galaxy Note 8 will be the LG Chemical.

A ruling would have declared that the Samsung has put aside the pride and decided to entrust the realization of the batteries of his arch-enemy. The two Korean companies have already started cooperation in the area of the large display. LG supplies the LCD panels for Samsung TVS, as the previous supplier (Sharp) has discontinued production. The agreement was not yet concluded, but there is a probability of 90% that this will happen in a short time.

considering that it takes at least six months to design, test, and production, batteries, LG will not be definitely used for the Galaxy S8. The first candidate is then the Galaxy Note 8, which is expected for the third quarter of 2017.
