One of the novelties included by the Samsung in the Galaxy S8 will be the personal assistant developed by Viv Labs, a company acquired at the beginning of October. According to the latest information received from the site SamMobile, Bixby can be used in all the apps installed on the smartphone.

Bixby should be the name chosen by Samsung for its digital assistant, based on theartificial intelligence designed by Viv Labs. The technology, which is assumed to be better than all the others available on the market, will take the place of S Voice, and can also be used with third-party services, to offer an experience more complete. At the beginning of November, an executive from Samsung has confirmed that users will be able to use natural language to have a conversation with the personal assistant.

Bixby will support all the apps installed on the Galaxy S8, by answering the questions in a precise manner. For example, you can ask to Bixby to show the images in the Gallery that meet specific criteria, such as date taken or subject matter. At the moment it is not clear if the assistant will be able to understand different languages, or just the most popular. Another unknown is the Google. The company of Mountain View could be used to prohibit the integration of a technology similar to the Google Assistant, which is included in Android 7.1 Nougat.

On the Galaxy S8 will be also updated the interface of the app and the status bar will always be visible, in order to allow quicker access to notifications and settings. According to recent rumors, the smartphone will arrive on the market in April. Samsung wants to first perform extensive testing to avoid problems similar to those of the Galaxy Note 7.
