This period seems to be very favorable for the recycled plastic, which after seeing her in action in the Netherlands as a possible road surface, today we tell initiative Ecobricks, a project curated by Susan heisse that has allowed to realize 60 schools exploiting bricks of recycled plastic material.

Alongside the traditional walls in concrete and masonry, these bottles have been added as filler to achieve a layer of insulating material rather large, ideal to get a good insulation.

Nothing special processing or recycling. Ecobricks exploits reuse as a way to give new life to plastic bottles, so you can use them to do something useful rather than throw them away.

In countries where there are no industries technically able to recycle these materials, Susan Heisse has invented an alternative way to turn them into bricks and so achieve something.

The logic is simple: just cut the plastic bottle and fill it in turn with waste such as plastic and the like.

Once filled, the bottle becomes more resistant and robust and can be used to make walls and furniture, such as chairs or tables.

This allows on one hand to recover the plastic bottles, from ‘else to recover the waste that sit in landfills.

Aesthetically are not particularly beautiful, but they have the advantage of being easily carried anywhere without the need for special equipment, and also can be repaired without problems.

The vision is this: a concept of zero waste system that does not require money, facilities, infrastructure investment or policy interventions.
