Give a chance for redemption to those who have little or nothing in life, and to do so while helping the environment by recycling and avoiding a further negative impact?
Do not pure utopia but a beautiful reality that was conceived and carried out by the project EcoBricks set up dall’ambientalista Susan Heisse, who in just 69 months has raised 60 institutions in different countries among the poorest in the world, from the Philippines to Guatemala, going to South Africa.
All schools dedicated to ‘education of children in the poorest countries of the world and all built with recycled materials, primarily plastic. Thanks to EcoBricks reduces accumulated waste in landfills and in the villages and schools are built with insulating materials. It also creates jobs, even among young people. Not only build schools, but also houses, and the association is working, also, to create gardens and eco-villages.
Nicholas Vernon, one of the founders of the initiative, called the project a model transition that has adapted to the challenges of Greyton: “EcoBricks is the best example of social integration that I have ever encountered in 30 years of work in social services”.
